George Gutierrez, LMFT

Hi !  I am a strong believer in the goal and mission to serve this community’s need for mental health and emotional well-being.  My previous tenure was for seven years providing psychotherapy here at LGTC Group three years ago. Prior to that, I worked for over 30 years in the mental health field and have been licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist since 1990. I received a Bachelors degree in Psychology from San Francisco State University and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from San Jose State University.  I was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area and spend my leisure time listening to music, going to the beach, and spending time with my family, including my 6-year-old granddaughter. I am practiced in Cognitve-Behavioral Therapy as well as other approaches based on patient need. I utilize an accepting and patient-centered approach with the goal of reducing negative symptoms and stabilization of emotional distress whether it in related to environmental, relationship, or situational stressors. I enjoy, and have experience in working  in a collaborative manner with  medical and non-prescribing clinicians. I am also skilled in the resolution of recent and past trauma.
