Group Therapy

Our Group Therapy Services support those looking to address concerns and make positive changes in their lives through a group setting.

Joining a group of strangers may initially sound vulnerable. However, group therapy provides benefits that individual therapy may not. One therapist leads a group of six to ten patients through a one-hour weekly session. Group members are often surprised by how rewarding and effective the group experience can be. Some of the benefits of group therapy are:

Universality: Realizing you are not alone.

Altruism: Providing support and encouragement to others, fostering a sense of belonging and connection.

Interpersonal Learning: Feedback provides other perspectives and allows one to look at things differently.

Catharsis: Sharing emotions in a safe environment provides emotional release.

Skill Development: The group provides a safe space to practice communication skills and build a toolbox of skills, which builds self-confidence in one’s ability to communicate effectively.

Normalization: Realizing that it is human nature to have difficulties in life and to be witnessed and to witness can help ease discomfort.

Many people experience mental health difficulties, but few speak openly about them – group therapy helps you realize you’re not alone. Regularly talking and listening to others can help you put your own problems in perspective, and working in a group with others who suffer from the same or similar problems removes the feeling of isolation.

Caregiver Support Group for Families of Neurodivergent Children

Caring for a neurodivergent child can be a beautiful journey—filled with love, learning, and connection—but it can also be overwhelming, isolating, and exhausting. Our psychotherapy-based support group offers a safe and nurturing space for caregivers to be seen, heard, and supported.

This is a professionally facilitated support group for parents, guardians, and family members of children with neurodivergent profiles, including autism, ADHD, sensory processing differences, learning disabilities, and other developmental or neurological differences.

Led by a licensed therapist with experience in neurodiversity-affirming care, this group is designed to:

    • Reduce stress and isolation through regular meetings, shared stories, and validation.
    • Equip parents to advocate more confidently for their children’s needs.
    • Foster a sense of belonging and shared purpose.
    • Create a space where parents can offer each other understanding, encouragement, and lived experience.

    Who Is This For?

Parents and primary caregivers of children (Ages 6-17) who are neurodivergent. This includes children with diagnoses such as:

    • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 1 or 2
    • Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

Binge Eating Disorder (BED) Outpatient Process & Psychoeducation Group

This therapist-led group is designed for adults navigating recovery from Binge Eating Disorder (BED), emotional eating, or patterns of binge eating. It offers a supportive and nonjudgmental space to explore the emotional triggers behind eating behaviors, understand your relationship with food and your body, and develop practical tools for managing stress, shame, and difficult emotions. Through guided discussions and psychoeducation, you’ll deepen your self-awareness while connecting with others who truly understand what you’re going through.

Rather than going through recovery alone, this group gives you a place to be seen, heard, and supported—while building emotional resilience, insight, and a sense of community to help you move forward with confidence and compassion.

Is This Group Right for You?

This group may be a great fit if you:

      • Are an adult struggling with binge eating or have a diagnosis of Binge Eating Disorder (BED)
      • Are medically stable and appropriate for outpatient treatment
      • Are currently in individual therapy or transitioning from a higher level of care (such as PHP or IOP)
      • Want a supportive space to talk about your relationship with food, emotions, and body image
      • Feel ready to engage in open, process-oriented group discussions and connect with others on a similar path

      Start Date: July 28th, 2025

      Group Format:

      • 1st Wednesday of each month: Psychoeducation Group
      • 3rd Wednesday of each month: Process Group
      • The group will be run as an open therapy group — meaning new members may join at any time, and there is no set end date for participation. This allows for a range of experiences, perspectives, and stages in the recovery journey to be present in each session.

Schedule: Hybrid. There is a limit on attendees, no more than 10 are to attend a group. Please confirm attendance and enrollment with Krystina Esquibel, LPCC. (Open for referrals on an ongoing basis provided there is space).
