Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner
Over the past twenty-five years working in mental health care, I have been deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve patients and their families across a wide range of settings and life circumstances. I am a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, trained at UCSF, and then having completed my postgraduate residency training at the San Francisco VA Medical Center, where I gained extensive experience providing psychiatric care within an interdisciplinary, evidence-based system. Prior to joining the team at LGTC Group, I worked with medically underserved populations, initially providing care in person and later expanding access through telehealth services.
Over the years leading up to retraining as a psychiatric nurse practitioner, I worked extensively in counseling and psychotherapy, culminating in my role as clinical director of an eating disorder treatment program. These experiences continue to inform my integrative and relational approach to psychiatric care. I have also lived and worked internationally, including teaching as a regular faculty member at the University of Heidelberg in Germany, volunteering on an ashram in rural India, and serving as a guest lecturer within a medical school’s psychiatry department in Ukraine.
My academic background is multidisciplinary and includes a Master of Divinity from Yale University, a Master’s degree and PhD from Vanderbilt University, and a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of California, San Francisco, with a concentration in genomics, along with relevant clinical certifications. My doctoral research focused on late-life developmental psychology, reflecting my longstanding interest in mental health across the lifespan.
